SummitRidge Custom Home’s interior design services are centered around the idea of telling your home’s story.
Whether you’re looking to raise your family in a forever home or longing for a mountain retreat away from the world, our expert design team has the skills and experience to capture your unique narrative.
Yes, we require all of our clients to work with a designer, whether with our in-house design team, or with an outside designer.
Building or remodeling a home is a huge undertaking with many more decisions than you may expect, and working with a designer helps to ensure the success of your project. You don’t have to use our design team, but we highly recommend it. Some outside designers can leave gaps in the design-build process that our internal team must make up for including: pricing, exterior selections, value engineering, and on-site quality control.
Working with our in-house design team ensures that your project is in the right hands from pre-construction to closing.
While it’s great to start with a clear vision for your space, our design team brings years of experience to the table to help you avoid costly financial mistakes and timeline woes, while helping to bring all the elements of your home together to form a cohesive design story.
Interior design services provide incredible value for typically less than 1.5% of the total build / remodel cost. SummitRidge’s interior design services are performed at an hourly rate, giving our clients more control over the bottom line.
Certain meetings and services such as product documentation are necessary to ensure a successful field implementation, while additional services such as weekly in-person design reviews are up to the discretion and needs of the client.
The entire design process takes approximately 16 weeks from start to finish. Much of this happens alongside other parts of the building/remodel process, such as during permitting or engineering. However, your designer will be involved throughout the entire build to ensure your vision is executed perfectly.
Interior design typically starts during the pre-construction phase, around the same time that engineering and permitting are being completed. However, we can get started earlier depending on each client and project’s unique needs.
Interior design services are typically incorporated as part of SummitRidge’s custom home building and remodeling process, but design services may be performed separately depending on the needs of the project.
While our team can do a lot, we can’t do it all. We are happy to make referrals to other trusted professionals for landscape architecture, landscape lighting, furniture and decor selection, staging, and interior decorating services.
Due to our collaborative process, every SummitRidge interior design client has walked away satisfied with their design. Our team takes the time to get to know you and your tastes to ensure a successful result. Should there ever be an issue, we will always try to find a solution that meets everyone’s needs.
The first step in the design of your new home or remodel is the initial Design Discovery Meeting. This meeting typically lasts 2 – 3 hours and is the beginning of your journey into the Schematic Design of your home.
Prior to your meeting, we recommend searching for photos that represent what you love in a home, both inside and out. Please bring these inspiration images along with any vision boards you may have to your meeting. If you have specific selections such as a chandelier or a countertop material that you want to incorporate into your home, please bring photos or samples of those as well.
Ultimately, our expert design team is skilled at asking the right questions to get to know you, your family, and your tastes, so even if you come in empty-handed, we’ve got you covered.
During the schematic design phase, you’ll meet with your design team during the Design Discovery Meeting to share inspiration photos and discuss the overall narrative of your home including your needs, wants, likes, and dislikes to ensure we’re all on the same page before design development begins.
Next, your design team will compile and present proposals for all interior and exterior materials consistent with your vision. During this time, we will also define functional details including cabinetry design, appliance selection, and architectural lighting or low voltage plans.
Once finalized, our team documents all the details, coordinates final selections for your approval, and places orders. From there, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the process of a SummitRidge build!
